OMG THIS IS TEH ROXXOR11!!1!1!1

What could make me babble like a 13 year old Sony fanboy? Nothing other than a new episode of Strategy Guide, probably one of my favorite series here on NG. Take old-school gaming goodness, mix in great visuals, add a dash of humor, and you have a sickly entertaining piece of gaming nostalgia. There's honestly nothing bad that I can say about this movie. Bravo, well done, kudos, and all that good stuff.

Needle responds:

Thanks for the kind words! Back when I started the series, I wasn't sure if people would identify with my love for old games. Apparently there was never anything to worry about. I'll keep making them as long as people keep liking them. :)

Unoriginal.

The RIAAs whole Secret Police treatment of kids who download music is a good idea for parody, but you did absolutely nothing original or interesting with it. So, the kid gets some burned CDs for free from some shady back alley guy and then gets caught by the RIAA. For one, this misses the mark simply because buying burned CDs would put you in no danger of being caught by the RIAA, since they work online and are after usernames and IP adresses. I know this is a parody, and in turn artistic liscense is allowed, but you need to have some relation to and understanding of your topic to make insightful comedy. Second, the fact that they surround and shoot him...where's the biting social commentary in this. It's so blunt and uncreative. It doesn't say anything beyond "RIAA are bad"! It doesn't give any argument or any reasoning. This is as much mindless propoganda as anything that they release. I'm in no way defending the RIAA, but if you're going to create a movie like this, start with a unique message and then conceive an insightful way to get it across. Don't deliver a watered down version of what's been said 8 billion times already.

Gorbulus responds:

I don't think you understand that I am joking on the message that the RIAA is putting across and how they have rediculous consequences for little kids who download songs off the internet. I don't think you understand the term "EXAGGERATION"

Mmm, it's alright.

Pretty good. The moment I see a stick figure I usually begin convulsing, but this movie was pretty entertaining. The graphics and animation were crude, but the fact that the music was so well integrated into the action put this movie above average for me. I think that you have a talent for pacing and presentation, so if you could just upgrade the quality of the visuals, you could make some impressive stuff.

And just to note, I probably would've given you an 8 had it not been for the inclusion of that damn "Peanut Butter Jelly" song. The combination of it and the stick men was just to much unoriginality for a human being to take.

eddsworld responds:

yeah i know what you mean. you either love it or hate it! :P

I like these cartoons way too much...

I don't know what it is, but I just find Lobster the Lobster hilarious. If you watch these shorts expecting some sort of life-altering Flash experience, then you're missing the point. It's short, dumb, repetative, and done so very intentionally, which is why it's funny. You have to watch these things "ironically", as the hipsters would say.

But overall, keep making these things. Over the last week I've gotten used to looking foward to these every day when I come home, so keep em crude and keep em coming.

Yarharhar responds:

Yes, someone that gets it. Thanks!
